The Pumas of Torres del Paine

Day 1:

Arrive to Punta Arenas, Chile where you will be met by your guide and transferred to our hotel near Torres del Paine National Park. In the evening we’ll meet our Puma tracker for dinner and for an orientation for the Puma tracking days to come.

Days 2-5:

We will spend the next 4 full days accompanied by one of the very best Puma tracker/guides in the business. We will have free access to explore a vast area of private ranchlands bordering the national park with 4wd vehicles and by foot. Here at least 11 approachable pumas have been identified in recent years. A typical day involves a pre- dawn departure (4:30-5:00AM!) to any number of locations within the private estancia where we anticipate the pumas may be circulating. Late morning, we will return to the hotel for a mid-day siesta and lunch. We will then again depart in the afternoon to another destination or, perhaps return to where we were in the AM for another 3-4 hrs of photography. Late in the afternoon we return to the hotel for dinner and then it’s off to bed so we can do it all over again the next day!

Day 6:

Following breakfast, we will pack up and drive to either the Punta Arenas or Puerto Natales airport to board your back to Santiago and on home. End of tour.......
